// Auto Glass Repair & Replacement
Windshields, Side Windows, and Back Glass
Do you offer mobile auto glass service?
Yes! A Plus Auto Glass offers 100% free mobile auto glass service throughout the Greater Houston area. We can repair or replace your glass at your home, office, or anywhere else that is safe and convenient for you.
Repair or replace: How do I know what my windshield needs?
As a general rule, if a rock chip is smaller than a quarter, or if a single-line crack is shorter than 6 inches and not obstructing your primary line of sight, we can usually repair the windshield. If the damage is larger or more complex, a full windshield replacement is required.
How long does a windshield replacement take?
The physical installation process takes roughly 45 to 60 minutes. However, the advanced urethane adhesive we use requires a “Safe Drive-Away Time.” You must wait approximately 1 additional hour for the adhesive to cure before driving the vehicle.
Will you use factory (OEM) glass for my replacement?
We highly recommend and specialize in OEM and OEE auto glass. This ensures a perfect factory fit, proper optical clarity for safety sensors, and optimal acoustic dampening. If you prefer to use aftermarket glass to save money, let us know and we can discuss your options.
Do you recalibrate the safety cameras (ADAS) after a replacement?
Yes. If your vehicle is equipped with forward-facing cameras for Lane Keep Assist or Automatic Emergency Braking, a camera recalibration is mandatory after a windshield replacement. We have the advanced equipment to perform this calibration on-site.
My side window was smashed. Will you clean up the glass?
Absolutely. Whether it’s a door window or the rear windshield, breaking tempered glass creates a massive mess. Our technicians carry industrial vacuums to extract the glass cubes from your seats, floorboards, and inside the door panels before installing the new window.
//Insurance Claims & Pricing
Navigating Coverage and Costs
Do you work with my auto insurance company?
Yes, we work with all major insurance networks, including State Farm, Geico, Progressive, Allstate, Farmers, and USAA. We are a preferred vendor and can handle the entire insurance claim process on your behalf.
Will filing a claim increase my insurance rates?
In Texas, claims filed under the Comprehensive portion of your auto insurance for glass breakage are considered “no-fault” incidents. Generally, these auto glass claims will not cause your insurance premiums to increase.
Do I have to pay my deductible for a rock chip repair?
Usually, no. If you carry comprehensive insurance, most major carriers will completely waive your deductible for a windshield rock chip repair (resin injection). The repair is entirely free to you
I don’t want to use insurance. What are your cash prices?
We offer highly competitive out-of-pocket cash pricing for customers without comprehensive coverage or those who simply do not wish to file a claim. Contact us for a free, exact quote based on your vehicle’s make and model.
// Window Tinting
Heat Rejection and Texas Laws
What is the difference between Ceramic Tint and regular tint?
Standard dyed tint primarily provides privacy and darkens the window. Ceramic Window Tint is infused with microscopic nanoparticles that actively reflect infrared heat (up to 80% or more) and block 99% of UV rays, making your vehicle significantly cooler without interfering with cell phone or GPS signals.
What is the legal tint limit in Texas?
According to Texas Window Tint Laws, the front side windows (driver and passenger doors) must allow at least 25% of light to pass through. The rear side windows and rear windshield can be as dark as you like, provided the vehicle has dual outside mirrors.
How long does tint take to dry?
We strongly advise keeping your tinted windows rolled up for 3 to 5 days after installation. This allows the adhesive to fully cure and any trapped moisture to evaporate, ensuring the film does not peel at the edges.
Will the tint turn purple over time?
No. We use premium carbon and ceramic films that are guaranteed by the manufacturer against fading to purple, bubbling, cracking, and peeling.
//Vehicle Wraps & General Info
Custom Wraps and Warranties
How long does a vehicle wrap last?
A high-quality 3M or Avery Dennison vehicle wrap, when properly maintained and kept clean, will last between 5 to 7 years in the Houston climate.
Will a wrap damage my paint?
No. A premium vinyl wrap actually protects your original factory paint from UV fading, minor scratches, and road debris.
Do you offer a warranty on your auto glass work?
Yes! A Plus Auto Glass provides a Lifetime Labor Warranty on all auto glass replacements. This guarantees our installations against air leaks, water leaks, and manufacturer defects in the glass for as long as you own the vehicle.
